After her fiancé calls off their wedding just one month before the ceremony, a 32-year-old Orthodox Jewish woman decides to keep the wedding reservation, trusting that God will provide her with a husband in time for the ceremony. More of a quirky, emotional and poignant reflection on faith than a romantic comedy, this award-winning film is a joyful delight. The lead actress proves to be delightfully charming as her character holds fast against all reason and the expectations of family and friends that God will come through for her. Chock full of Israeli and Orthodox culture and practices.
Following the film, Steven Ger, Director of Sojourner Ministries and Pastor of Beth Sar Shalom, will lead a thoughtful, dynamic discussion regarding the film's narrative themes and the sensitive aspects of Jewish culture and history it touches upon.
